FAQs

How do I make an appointment?

There are several ways you can reach out based on what is convenient for you.

  1. Fill out the contact form below

  2. Call or text me via secure message at 517.459.9158

Once you reach out, I will get back with you to gather some basic information and schedule you an appointment based on a time that is convenient for you.

What can I expect at the first appointment?

It is completely normal to experience some nervousness or fear about starting therapy. At your first appointment, we will review paperwork, talk about why you are seeking therapy, and I will ask you several questions about you and your history. I encourage you to ask any questions you may have and we will discuss goals you have for therapy and options for achieving these goals. I will gather this information to determine if I am the best fit to help you along your journey.

Do I need to bring anything to my first appointment?

Once you reach out, I will send you a Consent for Therapy Form, Privacy Policy information, and a General History form for you to fill out and sign. We will review the forms during our first appointment and I will answer any questions to may have.

How much will therapy cost?

Currently, I am accepting self-pay clients. We will discuss financials at the first appointment in accordance with the No Surprises Act and your right to know a Good Faith Estimate for how much your services will cost if you do not have insurance or are choosing not to use your insurance. You can learn more information about the No Surprises Act at www.cms.gov/nosurprises

If you have out of network benefits, I can still see you and provide you receipt of service needed to submit your insurance provider.

What will a typical therapy session look like?

After our first appointment/s, I will make a recommendation for therapy services and together we will create a map of treatment based on your goals.

After treatment planning, therapy sessions may consist of sharing your story, exploring what is getting in the way of you reaching your goals, teaching and practicing strategies to reduce symptoms, and homework to help you reach your goals faster.

How often will I have therapy?

Everyone is different and I will work with you to determine frequency that is based on your needs. Typically, we will meet weekly for approximately 45-60 minutes. There may be cases where we may meet more frequently, or less frequently depending on identified need.
